To add a description to a post category, you go to Posts > Categories, hover under the title of the category, click Edit, enter text in the “Description” field, click Update.
The description field works like the comment field (when you comment on someone else’s blog); you cannot format the text using inline CSS (that is, using the style attribute inside HTML tags) or add images, but you can
• enter line and paragraph breaks,
• use plain HTML tags for bold and italics ( <strong>TEXT HERE</strong> , <em>TEXT HERE</em> ),
• use coding for links ( <a href="URL HERE">LINKING TEXT HERE</a> ).

[a] Category pages usually include a heading; the heading varies, depending on the theme – see relevant post.
[b] Description shows in the sidebar.
[c] Bug: description shows twice.
[d] Oversight: no space between heading and description.
Thank you for this list! I have a fair no. of categories and really like having my category description show on the category page, almost seems like a no-brainer that this should be the default option in any theme…That was one of the main things I liked about TwentyTen. I’ll come back to this list if I decide not to stick with Bueno.
My pleasure!
Thank you- your post does exactly what I was planning to test (for matala!)
how do i make some page for my post by each?
but not on category. could you help me immediately please
Sorry, I don’t understand your question – try to explain more clearly.
thank you ve ry much
