I searched for scrolling messages, text scrollers and the like when I prepared the previous widget post; then I just browsed the sites I found, to spot other interesting widgets.

I have an off-topic question now (and sorry for asking here but I cannot find any contact form or email address for you). Currently the Greek support forums are called “Please give me a name!” What should the name be in Greek? In other words, how do you say “WordPress.com Forums in Greek” in Greek? Thanks!

The Greek forum is a pitiful thing: it’s got very little traffic, and apparently its moderator has abandoned it (hasn’t shown up for almost a year). Anyway, in Greek it should be “WordPress.com – Ελληνικό Φόρουμ”. Or you could avoid Greek characters and opt for “Greek WordPress.com Forum” instead. Why are you asking?

Unfortunately in wp.com themes there’s no way to embed such a slideshow the way it’s embedded in the examples you linked to (except if you have the paid CSS upgrade and much experience in CSS editing). So if you want a slideshow on your front page it must be inserted in a sticky post or in the sidebar.

The WP slideshow as well as the three other slideshows directly supported by WP (Slide, RockYou, SlideShare) cannot be configured to link to posts you specify. The Modularity Lite slideshow does link to post, but it’s confined to the posts on the front page of your own blog. PLease visit Sanjida’s post (the third link I gave above) and ask her if any of the slideshows she has collected can work the way you want.
